The USB to ethernet adaptor appears in network preferences but does not detect the ethernet connection. Unfortunately I also need an ethernet connection while using the external monitor. Apparently a known problem with the Rocketfish driver, but they are having a hard time getting an update out. The adapter was an “open box item”. I am using the thunderbolt port for my external monitor. Apple Watch Speciality level out of ten:

User profile for user: Any help or suggestions? Just tried it on the Mac mini and I’m getting the same result as I did with the first adapter. I exchanged the adapter for the Apple one to see if that would make a difference.

I tried the adapter on my MacBook tonight, and same result. May 13, I’ve installed the drivers, reset PRAM, repaired disk permissions, swapped ethernet cables, tried it in a few different locations and so far I’ve had no luck. Is there anything else I can try?

Under “USB Ethernet” in my Network sidebar it says “not connected”, and in the main window is says cable unplugged. I’ll try using it with my first generation MacBook and see if the result is any different.
